Waiting on Convenience

Acts 24:1-27

INTRODUCTION: Felix deferred to a time of convenience in his pursuit of God. Unfortunately, it would seem the day of convenience never came for him. It must be understood that the Devil does not mind delayed pursuit, because he understands the day of convenience often never comes.

I. THE INCONVENIENCES OF YOUTH

A. Limitations of Mind

1. Consider the doctrinal ignorance and inexperience
2. Consider the priorities of school

B. Limitations of Time

1. Consider the hours spent in education
2. Consider the need for rest in preparation for school

C. Limitations of Resources

1. Consider the hindrances of transportation
2. Consider the hindrances of individuality

II. THE INCONVENIENCES OF ADULTHOOD

A. Limitations of Mind

1. Consider the complications of family
2. Consider the complications of career

B. Limitations of Time

1. Consider the hours spent in career
2. Consider the time needed for family and rest

C. Limitations of Resources

1. Limited strength
2. Limited finances

III. THE INCONVENIENCES OF OLD AGE

A. Limitations of Mind

1. Consider the loss of memory
2. Consider the difficulty of learning

B. Limitations of Resources

1. Strength is hard to find
2. Health hinders opportunities for service

CONCLUSION: If you are looking for a convenient day to be saved, you need to understand the day of convenience will never come. If you are waiting for a day of convenience to determine to give your life to the Lord and serve Him, you need to go ahead and understand that that day will never come. You have to determine that today is the day and that nothing will stand in the way to postpone your availability to God.
